The original recipe for this incredible bread was taken from AllRecipes.com, but with slight modifications. I change the recipe to 24 servings and the allrecipes website re-calculates the ingredients to 2 loaves. Then I actually use smaller bread pans and make 3 loaves. I hope that made some kind of sense!
The only other change that I make are these:
- Double the raisins and while waiting for the yeast to rise, put your raisins in a bowl of water. This helps the raisins plump up and keeps them from getting dry/hard while baking. Pour off the water before you add the raisins to the batter.
- Double the Cinnamon Sugar mixture. This isn't a health bread, although it healthier than most! So the extra cinnamon sugar really gives it that melt-in-your mouth flavor.
